The Shops
at Sierra are the newest additions to the Miracle Mile.
The Miracle Mile is expanding!
Already an acclaimed stretch of the 210 freeway, the area is known
for the great shopping opportunities from businesses such as Costco,
Home Depot, Fontana Nissan, LA Fitness, Applebee’s Restaurant
Bar and Grill, Rotolo Chevrolet and others. Last year, this economic
engine made a huge contribution to the $28 billion sales tax growth
of the city, and has been a catalyst for reinvestment in our infrastructure
needs. The area plays a large role in the services the city is able
to offer when trying to enhance the quality of life for all residents.
Some of the benefits from Fontana’s tax revenue
force have been the large contribution those dollars played in the
grand openings of the new regional Lewis Library and Technology Center,
the renovated Center Stage theater, the new Development Services
Organization City Hall Annex, the 38 acre Fontana Park, and several
major enhancements to our transportation thoroughfares.
Shops at Sierra
For the last few months, drivers, residents, and shoppers have
looked with interest at the Southeast corner of Sierra Avenue
and Sierra Lakes Parkway.
It is here where 14 acres of barren
land have quietly, yet quickly, risen to new heights and are creating
a welcoming home for future medical services, grand appetites, and
shoppers delights. A few of the new businesses will open in October
while most will be ready for customers by the end of 2008, beginning
of 2009.
Opening Soon
The
new 40,000 square foot medical office.
One of the earlier openings is the easily recognizable 40,000
square foot medical office operated by Catholic Healthcare
West. As a representation of the medical industry, the building’s
image offers a subtle departure from the surrounding shops and serves
as a commercial image to Fontana for all travelers along the 210
freeway. Well known retailer, Big 5 Sporting Goods, an
athlete’s favorite stop when shopping for apparel or equipment,
will also open in October on the east side of the Shops at Sierra.
End of the Year Openings
Under
construction: Mimi’s Café.
Whatever your desire, the Shops at Sierra will
definitely be able to satisfy your hunger. With French Quarter styled
dishes that can fill any stomach to a fun pizza-themed restaurant/sports
bar with a huge selection of children’s meals, everyone will
be visiting for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Tio’s Mexican
Restaurant is also expanding from its two restaurants in Rancho
Cucamonga and positioning itself in Fontana.
“By the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009,” says
Elisa Grey Economic Development Manager “the entire center
will be open and will include Mimi’s Café, Boston’s
The Gourmet Pizza, Tio’s Mexican Restaurant, T-Mobile and
other ancillary retail shops.”
As the doors open to all of these great new places
many will continue to keep their eyes and ears open as there is certainly
more to come throughout Fontana.
