GENERAL INFORMATION
The City of Fontana through the Recreation &
Community Services Department will be hosting the 53rd Annual
Fontana Days Run on Saturday, June 7, 2008. The City of Fontana Half
Marathon Course has been recognized as the fastest in the world.
The half marathon began back in 1955 with a reported 200 participants.
Race founders were unaware that the annual half marathon would
grow to include over 1600 participants and serve as an opening
event for the Fontana Days festivities. The Fontana Days Run
provides participants with a safe, festive, well organized event.
The 53rd Annual Fontana Days Run will feature a Half Marathon
Run, Children’s Healthy Half Mile Dash, 5K Family Fitness
Walk, 5K Run/Race Walk, Vendors, Exhibitors, Live Entertainment
and Finish Line Festivities. Rain
or shine the Fontana Days Run still goes on!
The objective of the City of Fontana is to promote health and
fitness through positive recreation programming. The Annual
Fontana Days Run provides city exposure to athletes around the
world, corporate sponsors the opportunity to promote their business,
and the Community Services Department the capability to develop partnerships
with local service clubs, school district, non profit organizations,
law enforcement agencies, forestry department, fire and rescue
personnel.
