Youth
develop artistic techniques

Fontana,
California, August 1, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite youth to regsiter for Basic Drawing, Beginning
Acrylic Painting and Paper Mâché, or Creative Crafts for Kids classes at the Art Deport, located at 16822 Spring
Street.
Basic Drawing for ages 6 and older is Wednesday evenings beginning August 13 for $35 for 6 weeks. The class provides
students with the tools and resources to express themselves and enjoy a new world of creativity. By learning
to draw using charcoal, pencil, or paint it is hoped that the young artist will hone in on a preferred method
that inspires further explorations in colors, shades, and techniques.
Beginning Acrylic Painting and Paper Mâché for ages 8 and older is $45 for 4 weeks on Tuesday and Saturday evenings
from 6:30 to 8:30 pm beginning August 19. The class introduces students to acrylic painting using basic principals
and form with application on non-traditional Paper Mâché figures.
Creative Crafts for Kids is for children ages 4 to 10 specifically with developmental disabilities will be held
on Wenesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 pm for $60 for 4 weeks beginning August 20. The class helps students develop language,
social and motor skills. Each session will focus on a language concept and includes crafts, songs, and a snack.
Classes are at the Lewis Library and Technology Center, located at 8437 Sierra Avenue.
