Credit
reports & identity theft are seminar topics

Fontana,
California, August 4, 2008. The Mayor and City Council invite the public to the upcoming Community
Assistance Program (CAP) Understanding Your Credit Report and Score seminar on Thursday, August 14. Identity
Theft is also available on Thursday, August 21. Both sessions are free from 7 to 9 pm at the Cypress neighborhood
center, located at 8380 Cypress Avenue.
CAP is a partnership between the Water for Life Community Church and the City of Fontana. The purpose of the
program is to provide residents with valuable resources to improve and enrich their lives.
Understanding Your Credit Report and Score teaches how to read and understand a credit report, what causes one
number to be higher or lower than another, and what good credit habits can do to improve the score.
Identity Theft offers tips on how to safeguard an identity. Information is also available for discovering when
identity theft has already occurred or what a victim can do to take control of the situation.
